RTC Standard 11 Induction - Surface

Individuals and contractors should confirm induction requirements with the site they will be working on before attending an induction to ensure the process aligns with site procedure and is recognised by site.

Who Should Attend
Persons who require a Standard 11 Surface Induction to be able to work on Queensland Coal Mine Sites.
Aim
To gain qualifications for the 6 units of competency for Standard 11.
Course Outline
This is a highly interactive and scenario based program delivering the underpinning knowledge for the Standard 11 program including
- An Introduction to Mining
- Thinking about Safety
- Hazard Identification
- Risk Management
- Isolation
- Communication Principles and Application
- Personal & Team Risk Management
- Site Risk Management
- Incident Response
- Introduction to Fire Prevention and Response
- First Aid

None
Training Material
Participants receive a separate Workbook for each day and a Student Reference Guide. A Site Verification document is issued to each person on completion of the second day of training.
Assessments
Participants will undergo classroom observations along with group self assessments & individial written assessments.
Outcome
Students who show competency and pass the theory component of the course will receive Certificate of Attendance and partial completion Digi-card.
The Site Verification workbook needs to be completed and returned within six (6) months of completing the course. If a student is unable to meet this timeframe they will be required to complete a refresher program and given a further 6 months to complete. Access to a Coal Site and completion of a Site Specific Induction is required to finalise this workbook.
On submission and validation of the Site Verification document participants will be issued a Statement of Attainment and Digi-card for

Delivery
The course will be delivered via a face-to-face format in either ASTA training rooms or at your workplace depending on numbers, client requirements and training facilities.
