Who Should Attend
Any person wishing to gain the skills required to obtain a Statement of Attainment to operate a Remote Operated Gantry or Overhead Crane.

Aim
The aim of this course is to provide the participant with adequate knowledge to successfully complete the assessments required to attain a Statement of Attainment for Remote Operated Gantry or Overhead Crane.

Course Outline
On completion of this course, participants will understand:
• Work Health & Safety Regulations requirements
• Underpinning knowledge & skills requirement
• Equipment safety and specific theory including principles, procedures, mechanical procedures, terminology, Australian Standards, workplace policies and procedures, communication etc.
• Practical operation of the machinery – operator checks and services, basic concept of working materials, operations of the machine, communication.

Training Materials
The participant is supplied comprehensive course notes covering WHS Legislation and guidance materials on the operations, maintenance and use of Remote Operated Gantry or Overhead Crane. During the period of formal course work, the participants will also be provided with power point presentations and safety videos.

Assessment
On completion of the formal theory coursework, the participant will undertake a written theory assessment, and then the participant will undertake a practical assessment. If the participant does not meet the requirement of the practical assessment a log book will be issued with a nominal amount of hours. They will be required to return to their place of employment and log the required hours. On completion, a follow up assessment will be conducted. Participants are to supply a Remote Operated Gantry or Overhead Crane for this assessment.

Outcome
On successful completion of the theory and practical assessments, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIHAN305D Operate a gantry or overhead crane.

Delivery
The course will be delivered via a face-to-face format in either ASTA training rooms or at your workplace, depending on numbers, client requirements and training facilities.
