Who Should Attend
Any person wishing to upgrade their knowledge on trenching and soil types in excavation works.
Aim
The aim of this course is to provide the participant with adequate knowledge to successfully complete the assessments and the practical skills required to work in a safe environment.
Course Outline
On completion of this course, participants will know:
- Workplace Health & Safety Regulations and requirements
- Underpinning knowledge & skills requirement
- Design and Planning
- Causes of Incidents
- Site Hazards
- Soil Mechanics
- Soil Identification and Classification
- Trench Rescue Procedures
- Incident Investigation
Pre Requisite
None
Training Materials
Participants will receive a set of course notes and undergo a written assessment.
Assessment
All participants will be required to participate in a practical demonstration and assessment. Participant or client to provide all plant and equipment along with an area to conduct practical assessment.
Outcome
Participants who demonstrate competency by successfully completing all assessments will receive a Certificate of Attendance for Excavation & Trenching.
Delivery
The course will be delivered via a face-to-face format in either ASTA training rooms or at your workplace, depending on numbers, client requirements and training facilities available for the practical assessment.
