Asbestos Awareness

Who Should Attend
This course is designed for those who work around asbestos but do not need to remove it or need to remove less than 10m2.

Aim
The aim of this course is to enable those trained to identify asbestos. This training will reflect the specific type of asbestos work to be undertaken, and the health surveillance measures to be put in place when working on asbestos removal.

  •  Sources and identification of asbestos
  •  Health aspects of exposure to asbestos fibres
  •  Responsibilities and Legal obligations
  •  Emergency procedures and safety requirements

None

Training Materials
Participants will receive a Code of Practice for the Safe Removal of Asbestos and a QLD Workplace Health & Safety Information Paper.

Assessments
Participants will undertake a written assessment.

Outcomes
Participants who demonstrate competency by successfully completing all assessments will receive a Certificate of Attendance for Asbestos Awareness.

Delivery
The course will be delivered via a face-to-face format in either ASTA training rooms or at your workplace, depending on numbers, client requirements and training facilities.
